Bastille are an English pop band formed in London in 2010.  Dan Smith, who beforehand was a solo singer-songwriter formed the group which now consists of Chris Wood, William Farquarson, Kyle Simmons and himself. Smith named the group Bastille after the English name for the holiday French National Day which falls on his Birthday, July 14th. The group is currently making waves after releasing their first studio album "Bad Blood" in 2013.  At this years Brit Awards they were awarded British Breakthrough Act. As of February, the band has sold over 2 Million records in the UK alone.  The group has also grown in popularity in the US having performed on Saturday Night Live (January 25, 2014) and with the Official Charts Company announcing on April 1st that "Bad Blood" was the biggest selling digital album of 2013. The single "Pompeii" off the album (video above) is currently charting in the top 10 of Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
